Evaluating the Field Performance of Permeable Concrete Pavers

چکیده
The benefits of using permeable interlocking concrete pavement systems (PICPs) have not translated into widespread adoption in Australia, where their uptake has been slow. This paper communicates the actual performance PICPs installed field by providing evidence long-term efficiency. There are currently no Australian standards for design, specification and installation PICPs. In this study, measurements were conducted to determine infiltration capacity Sydney Wollongong, New South Wales, applying single ring infiltrometer test (SRIT) stormwater (SWIFT). A strong correlation was found between results two tests a previous which verified study. is demonstrated high rates (ranging from 125 mm/h 25,000 mm/h) measured study at sites under diverse range conditions. influences conditions such as age installation, slope tree cover on explored.

A Review of the Performance of Permeable Pavers
Urban stormwater runoff is a transport medium for many contaminants from anthropogenic sources. There are many alternative management strategies available to treat these contaminants. One of the technologies suggested for this purpose is the use of permeable pavements to minimise the quantity of surface runoff generated by impervious surfaces within an urban catchment. Reported herein are the r...
متن کاملThe Abrasion Testing of Concrete Pavers
This paper describes an in-depth evaluation of an abrasion testing procedure for concrete pavers developed in Australia The test involves abrasion of the paver surface by a rapidly rotating ball race under load. Water is used both to lubricate the race and to remove debris. The investigation included the study of factors affecting the test results such as the load applied to the ball-race, the ...
متن کاملThe Use of Seashell by-Products in Pervious Concrete Pavers
Pervious concrete is a green alternative to conventional pavements with minimal fine aggregate and a high void content. Pervious concrete allows water to infiltrate through the pavement, thereby reducing the runoff and the requirement for stormwater management systems. Seashell By-Products (SBP) are produced in an important quantity in France and are considered as waste. This work investigated ...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
